I Need a Semicolon

A period would be too much of a break. A comma wouldn’t be enough.

With all the book stuff, blogging, grammar article writing and grading, I need to take a break from thinking about grammar for a semicolon period of time: I’m thinking about a week.

4 the next weak Im gonna right like this.

Itll give me, time to catch up on UR blogs!!!!!

And their R so many movies i want too see. I just rented Jeff Who Lives at Home, witch i highly recommend.

Any movie recommendations from U 4 my grammar vacation????

HA! I bet you'll be stressed out in about ten minutes of that... Erm... did I mention I have a semi-colon fetish?

This post just killed me. I loved Jeff Who Lived At Home.

(And I loved that I just learned how to tag in a comment to use italics. That's been bugging me for years.)

Hahahaha... I don't think you'll enjoy seeing those grammar mistakes. But enjoy your break :)

If you're only going to the dark side for a short visit, these movie titles alone bring shame to English grammar.

Can't Hardly Wait
The Ladies Man
You Got Served
Two Weeks Notice
How She Move

(I can't put them into the proper type here in the comments.)

But please don't stay there too long. We need you here!

It might be more work for you to write like a texting teen!

I once used a semi colon and my teacher went off on a half hour tangent on why semi colons are not necessary where people try to put them. I tend to inspire such lectures. Movies suggestions 4 u teach: If you haven't seen Moonrise Kingdom, you need to rent it. So good. Also, The Avengers and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

It would be harder 4 me 2 right like this than to use proper grammar. I am :(

If you are inclined to go to a movie, I'd recommend Argo.

That one with Denzel looks good as well (is it called Flight?)

As for the rental front, I have been disappointed by my Netflix choices lately, although a few people have recommended the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

After my recent brush with outsourcing to India, I am kind of boycotting all things India for a while.

Enjoy your break!

I love semi-colons. Many of my sentences are long, so semi-colons are suitable.
Enjoy your break.

For a while I refused to see The Pursuit of Happyness because I figured a movie with such a clanger in the title had to be total rubbish. Until somebody told me the significance, and I figured it was time to loosen up a little. And it was a splendid film!

I'll bet it's harder for you to write like a semiliterate than to write beautifully.

I really want to see Looper. But it's not in theatres anymore. :( I heard it was really good though.

4 the next weak - that's cute. If you need a break, nobody's going to argue that you are strong. And you are right of course, to continue to right.
